Census source and acknowledgement
Adapted from Statistics Canada, Census Profile, 2021 Census. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
Statistics Canada. 2022. Census Profile. 2021 Census. Catalogue no. 98-316-X2021001. Ottawa. Released December 15, 2022. The original numerical package is 98-401-X2021003.
The Statistics Canada Open Licence applies to covered Statistics Canada information. Census images exported here include the value-added acknowledgement. Government branding or endorsement is not implied.
The full Profile preserves all 2,631 source lines, 5,175 profiles, both original value columns and separate source symbols. A missing, suppressed or source-marked value is not zero. A dollar statistic, an age, a count and a percentage are different measures even when their values coincide.
Income generally refers to calendar year 2020, with explicitly labelled 2019 exceptions. Labour force status refers to May 2–8, 2021. Mobility compares residence on May 11, 2021 with one or five years earlier. Housing cost ratios combine 2021 shelter costs and 2020 income. Exact eligible groups and original notes remain attached to the facts; unresolved source-rate units or reference periods are identified.
Geography rules
Province, municipality, Census metropolitan area, police metropolitan area, climate station, real-estate market and electoral district are different geographies. Compare accepts matching measure, year, unit and geography type. Missing cells stay missing.
United States preparation
Read the verified US resident-count source table and coverage limits. This secondary local preview includes all 50 states and DC, including Alaska and Hawaii. US map expansion remains held pending geometry, performance and independent review; Mexico and other US territories are outside this phase.
Publication and no endorsement
The product independently presents and calculates from cited material. Corbin has recorded his owner-and-counsel direction for the currently published election and real-estate packages. Citation does not mean any government, association, board or agency endorses The Honest Map.
The Statistics Canada licence does not license CMHC, CREA, real-estate boards, Elections Canada or provincial, territorial or municipal election providers. Their own source definitions and rights must be considered separately; the Census acknowledgement is not a blanket licence or a legal sign-off for those feeds.
